Matthew Pritchard
Psychosynthesis Counselling & Coaching

What if you could return to finding joy and satisfaction in life?
Meet Matthew
I spent twenty years at IBM in management and leadership roles – managing technical teams, leading transformation programmes, coaching people from recent graduates to seasoned executives. What I discovered was that the work I found most meaningful wasn’t the technical leadership. It was the human side: holding space for someone facing a difficult decision, helping people navigate change, sitting with the complexity of their lives.
Everyone, I discovered, needs a bit of help from time to time. Even highly successful people struggle with questions they can’t solve through willpower or strategic thinking – questions about meaning, identity, what truly matters.
That’s what drew me to Psychosynthesis. After leaving IBM, I trained formally as a coach (EMCC-accredited) and then as a therapist. I completed a Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Psychosynthesis Counselling at the Institute of Psychosynthesis and became BACP-registered in 2025. I’m currently finishing my Masters in Psychotherapy (graduating 2027).
I also bring eighteen years of experience in 12-step recovery communities. This background informs my work in addiction recovery – I understand that getting sober is just the beginning. The real work is discovering who you are and who you can become.

My Practice Today
I work with people facing addiction, major life transitions, and loss of meaning or purpose. My clients include young adults struggling with direction and workplace challenges, mid-career professionals facing transitions or burnout, and individuals in addiction recovery.
I maintain a private practice in Northampton and London and work as a therapist at Asana Lodge, a residential addiction treatment centre. I’m also on the faculty at Psychosynthesis Coaching Limited, where I teach trainee coaches.
My approach is rooted in Psychosynthesis – a psychology of hope that works with the whole person: what shaped you, how you live now, and what calls you forward. The work is about understanding yourself more fully, discovering what truly matters, and finding your way toward it.
